Looking for a new adventure this summer? NSCC is offering 5 different workshops at Waterfront Campus during August. It's a chance for 13 – 17 year olds to spend a week at College exploring some pretty cool topics up close and hands-on. The sessions run for one week each (9 AM – noon). Class sizes are limited – so register early.

Digital Photography

A great introduction to digital photography – you'll cover camera operating basics, how, and when, to use some of your camera features, capture fun moments with a creative eye, framing your photos. Learning in a fun atmosphere, you'll also work in groups on creative projects.
Animation for Youth

Create your own animations using stop motion (claymation). Learn to draw backgrounds, comic strips and storyboards, write stories and scripts and design and sculpt characters. Explore your love of drawing and cartoons and build a portfolio of your work.
Painting with LOVE

Bring your creativity and paint something you love: friends, family, pets, food, nature, sports or music. In this course, you'll create 3 wonderful oil paintings from your true passions. This course is for young artists who are looking for instruction beyond the typical classroom. You'll develop basic skills and learn new techniques. And you'll learn in a fun and motivating environment.

Want to learn a second language? Discover how to communicate with American Sign Language. You'll learn out how to introduce yourself, talk about activities and have a conversation.
MyScience

Offered in association with Discovery Centre, MyScience is an interactive program combining scientific concepts with awareness of current events and issues that affect us globally and locally. Students are encouraged to think critically about science "in the news" and to question claims made in the media about the validity of scientific studies. The aim of the program is to educate through experimentation and discussion, and to encourage young people to make a personal connection to scientific material.
